Church to donate to countries overseas
      St. John's Episcopal Church, Hoy and Hamilton avenues, Fords, is collecting clean, used but usable clothes, shoes, belts, handbags, bedding, linens, stuffed animals, etc., Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. School to host vendor shopping fair Nov. 12
      Ford Avenue School No. 14 PTO will present a "Ladies Night Out" vendor shopping and craft fair 7-9 p.m. Nov. 12, in the school's all-purpose room, 186 Main St., Fords. Proceeds from the fair will fund student activities throughout the 2009-10 school year, such as assemblies and field trips.

Participants sought for conservation unit
      Volunteers are sought for the Middlesex County Conservation Corps, whose mission is "to protect and preserve natural areas from misuse, polluters and the forces of nature" at the almost 7,000 acres of open space owned and maintained by Middlesex County.
