Police on the hunt for robbery suspect

WOODBRIDGE — Police arrested a 20- year-old Danbury, Conn., woman and are looking for an approximately 5-foot-9-inchtall black man with a medium build in his 20s, who allegedly were involved in a robbery at the Homestead Hotel on Hoover Way last week.

Santimer Ventura-Toribio was charged with robbery. Her bail was set at $25,000 with no 10 percent option.

Police said the male suspect is facing charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The incident occurred at 1:50 a.m. June 20.

Police were dispatched to the Homestead Hotel on a call of a robbery in progress from a 23-year-old North Carolina man.

The victim told police that he met a girl while visiting friends in New Brunswick on June 18. The victim called the girl around 1:30 a.m. on June 19 as he and his friends were patronizing the Fire & Ice Club in Fords.

The girl, later identified as Ventura- Toribio, told the victim to come to a room at the Homestead Hotel. The victim knocked on the door, and it was answered by the girl. When she asked the victim to come in, according to the police report, the male suspect walked out from behind the wall, allegedly pointed a black handgun at the victim's face and stated, "Give me all of the money that you have on you."

The victim put a $100 bill on the table and then he was told to leave. As he was leaving, he called police.

The night manager at the hotel told police that Ventura-Toribio called the office requesting a room change because she was scared of her boyfriend. The manager said the room could not be switched at that time.

The Special Operations Team made entry into the room and placed Ventura-Toribio under arrest. The male suspect was not in the room.
