PoetsWednesday announces schedule

The PoetsWednesday winter schedule and new poetry workshops have been announced at the Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Ave., Woodbridge. All readings of featured poets begin at 8 p.m. The readings are free, and all are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Poetry workshops will also be held, 7-8 p.m. Jan. 14, followed by the scheduled PoetsWednesday readings. A nominal fee will be charged for the workshop. All forms of poetry and all levels of skill are welcome. John McDermott will facilitate the January workshop. The winter schedule is:

• Jan. 14 — John McDermott, a poet and teacher of English as a second language. He is the author of several poetry books.

• Feb. 11 — Susan Settlemyre Williams, who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in poetry and whose poems have appeared in many publications. She is a member of the National Critics Circle.

Poet Deborah La Veglia heads the monthly readings. Meetings are for poets of all ages, and the poetry can be open themes. For more information, call 732-634-0413.
