Scholarships available to teens impacted by cancer

Prodigal Foundation's eighth annual Scholarship Dinner will be held June 17 at the Colonia Country Club.

The scholarship application has been mailed to all high schools throughout Middlesex County. All high school seniors who have had their lives affected by cancer are invited to apply for the scholarship. Applicants will write an essay explaining the challenges that they faced, which could be their own cancer, or a family member's, and how it has affected them. Interested seniors can see their guidance counselor or principal for the application. In addition, applications may be obtained by sending an email to eprodical@comcast.net. The scholarship application deadline is May 23.

In addition to the scholarships, Prodigal Foundation Inc. will present Distinguished Community LeaderAwards to individuals throughout the state who have demonstrated unique efforts in helping children affected by cancer.

Those interested in obtaining tickets to the dinner, placing an ad in the ad book, or making a scholarship donation should contact the foundation at (732) 636-9200 or eprodical@comcast.net or visit www.prodigalfoundation.com.
