Edison roller skating rink open through June Residents of all ages and abilities can now take advantage of the county's openair family roller skating rink in Roosevelt Park, Edison, run by the Middlesex County Department of Parks and Recreation. The rink will be open through June 29. It will be closed July and August and will reopen Sept. 4 through Oct 26. A special surface ideal for roller skating was installed at the family ice skating rink. Admission is $3, and buy one get one free during Thursday's Cheap Skate Night. Skate rental is $3. Discounted group admission prices are available, and the rink is available for birthday parties and private functions. Children under age 10 must wear a helmet; helmets are recommended for all beginners. Helmets can be purchased for $8. Hours of operation are 5-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday; noon to 4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Saturday; noon to 3 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Sunday; and closed Monday-Wednesday.
