Benefit carnival in honor of local girl May 14-18

The Fashion Love Ashlyn Educational Fund Inc. will host a benefit carnival at the Mayor Frank Pelzman Memorial Park on Tappen Street May 14-18 in honor of Ashlyn Ferriero, who was fatally struck by a North Jersey Coast Line NJ Transit train in June 2007.

The carnival will include rides, games, raffles, food and enjoyment for everyone.

The nonprofit Fashion LoveAshlyn Educational Fund Inc. organization was founded in memory of Ashlyn, 12, who was a seventh-grader atAvenel Middle School. The foundation provides clothing for children who cannot otherwise afford it and awards three annual scholarships for continued education.

The carnival will be held 6-10:30 p.m. May 14 and May 15, 6-11 p.m. May 16, 2-11 p.m. May 17, and 1-10 p.m. May 18.

The foundation is asking for everyone's help and support in making the carnival a great success. In return, the foundation will promote any business during the carnival.
