St. Andrew's Church, Knights slate blood drives

New Jersey Blood Services will be conducting blood drives in Woodbridge during April. Traditionally, donations decline during the winter, and increased April collections are needed to replenish blood supplies. At the same time, bad weather may lead to the cancellation of or reduced attendance at scheduled blood drives.

Qualified donors should be 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds and be in generally good health. Donors must present photo or signed identification and know their Social Security number. Donors over 75 years of age can also keep donating with their physician's note.

St. Andrew's Church, 244 Avenel St., Avenel, will host a drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20.

The Knights of Columbus Middlesex Council 857, 130 Main St., Woodbridge, will host a drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26.

To make an appointment to donate blood or ask a question about medical eligibility, call (800) 933-BLOOD (2566).
