Poetswednesday at Barron Arts on April 9

Poetswednesday will feature John Amen at 8 p.m. April 9 at the Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Ave., Woodbridge.

Amen is the author of two collections of poetry, "Christening the Dancer" and "More of Me Disappears," and he has released a folk and folk rock CD called "All I'll Never Need." His poetry has appeared in various journals and anthologies, including "Rattle," "The New York Quarterly," and "The International Poetry Review."

Amen is also an artist working primarily with acrylics on canvas. His second CD, "Ridiculous Empire," will be released later in the spring. He also founded and continues to edit the awardwinning literary bimonthly magazine The Pedestal.

An open reading will follow, and refreshments will be served.
