Credit for work belongs to all firefighters
Credit goes to all members of the Woodbridge Fire Company as well as all our township's Fire Companies and firefighters from five counties for the outstand job done at the Shell Tank Fire in 1996. A Sentinel reporter gave me too much credit in a recent story on the Fire District election.

While I did serve as the initial incident commander and set up the command structure I was the assistant chief that year. Our chief arrived some time into the incident, and for the next four days we alternated command. We received tremendous support from our township and county mutual aid coordinators as well as the first aid squads and numerous other agencies. The people of our fire district and the township were served well by many during this large incident.

I want to make sure all involved share the credit and receive the thanks of our residents.

Ken Gardner

Ex-Chief Woodbridge Fire Company
