Free weekend getaway for disabled adults Feb. 9-10

The Middlesex County Office for the Disabled is offering a free Winter Weekend Getaway for adults with disabilities Feb 9-10 at Kiddie Keep Well Camp in Roosevelt Park, Edison.

Applicants must be cognitively competent adults who direct their own care and who have the ability to medicate and transfer themselves. The overnight winter weekend program is designed to accommodate adults with disabilities and is modeled on the very successful Senior Camp Program. Activities will include arts and crafts, an exercise program, a wellness program, a nutrition program and a movie night.

Guests will stay in the Kiddie Keep Well Lodge, with shared living arrangements, including common bathrooms and sleeping arrangements. Guests must bring their own personal products including towels, bed linens and blankets. Extra staff will be on duty, including a nurse.

Participation will be limited to the first 15 people who submit fully completed applications. All medical information required on the application must be completed by a physician or certified nurse practitioner.

Applications must be submitted by Feb. 1. For an application, contact Judith Cusumano at (732) 745-4013 or judy.cusumano@co.middlesex.nj.us.
