Robbery at Dunkin' Donuts leaves man injured
BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer

WOODBRIDGE - A robbery at the Dunkin'Donuts on InmanAvenue in Colonia left a 58-year-old employee with multiple large, red swollen bruises on his head and neck last week, police said.

The incident occurred at 7:46 p.m. Dec. 29, the police report said.

Two victims told police that two black males, both about 18 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with medium builds and wearing black jackets, black jeans, brown boots and black wool ski masks - walked into the Dunkin' Donuts carrying black handguns and demanded the money from the register, the police report said.

One of the suspects started yelling and struck one of the victims multiple times on the face and the back of his neck with the handgun, the police report said.

One of the suspects then pulled the cash drawer out of the register, took the money from the drawer and threw the drawer on the ground, the police report said.

The suspects then fled the store on foot. The victims did not see the suspects get into a vehicle, police said.

The St. John's FirstAid Squad in Fords was on the scene; however, the victim refused medical attention, police said.

Approximately 11 minutes earlier, at 7:35 p.m., police had responded to an attempted robbery of the Exxon gas station on Inman Avenue in Colonia, police said.

An employee told police that two black males wearing black ski masks walked to the front door of the gas station on North Pennsylvania Avenue, and one of the suspects banged on the door, which was locked, the police report said.

The employee said he didn't see the suspects' hands and wasn't sure if they had any weapons, the police report said.

The employee described the suspect who banged on the door as an approximately 5-foot-8-inch-tall, heavyset black male wearing black pants and a black jacket. The second suspect was described as an approximately 5-foot-tall black male with a thin build, wearing black pants and a black jacket, the police report said.

The two suspects fled on foot toward North Pennsylvania Avenue, police said.
