Havoc wreaked on parked cars at Sheraton BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer
WOODBRIDGE - Vandals swept through the parking lot of the Sheraton Hotel on Route 1 south over the weekend.
Ten vehicles in total were broken into between 6 p.m. Dec. 1 and 10 a.m. Dec. 2, according to police reports.
Someone punched the lock of the driver-side door of a white 2004 fourdoor Cadillac Escalade and stole a Garmin GPS Model 550 navigational unit valued at approximately $400, police said.
Someone also smashed the front passenger side window of a blue 2007 fourdoor Chevy Trailblazer and stole a Magellan portable GPS unit valued at $500. The cost to repair the broken window is estimated at $250, police said.
Suspects also smashed the rear driver-side window of a silver 2002 Toyota Sequoia and stole a Navagon GPS navigational unit valued at approximately $350, police said.
In addition, an unknown person slipped the lock of a black 1995 four-door
at Sheraton
Honda Civic and stole a Garmin C330 GPS navigational unit along with a Pioneer stereo head unit. The total amount of property stolen is $290, police said.
Police also reported a smashed window to a gray 2007 four-door Toyota and the theft of a wallet containing three credit cards and a check book, a bag containing a pair of handcuffs with a key and the victim's constable badge of Monroe, N.Y., and a set of car and house keys.
Someone also smashed the window of a black 2004 four-door Toyota Corolla and stole a Pioneer GPS navigational unit, police said.
Someone punched the lock of the driver-side door of a black 2007 GMC Yukon and stole the owner's manual and registration card of the vehicle, police said.
Three other vehicles in the area had also been broken into, but the victims told police nothing appeared to be taken. In those incidents, someone punched the lock of the driver-side door of a gray 2004 BMW X5, a blue 2006 four-door Lexus LS430 and a green 2004 Lexus RX, police said.
