Audny Briseid

Audny (Ljokelsoy) Briseid, 94, formerly of Iselin, died Aug. 30, 2007, at the Johnson Center at Falcon's Landing retirement community, Sterling, Va. She was a member of Community Lutheran Church and the Senior Center at Cascades, both in Sterling. She also volunteered at Inova Loudoun Hospital. Mrs. Briseid was born in Norway and graduated from nursing school in Oslo, where she was a nurse during World War II. She settled in the United States in 1947, became a U.S. citizen and lived in Staten Island, N.Y., for a few years before moving to Iselin, where she remained until 1995, when she moved to northern Virginia to be near her family. She had been an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Rahway, a member and former chaplain of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a lifetime member of Sons of Norway. Her husband, Tobias (Toby), whom she married in 1947, died in 1989. Survivors include two children, Tordis N. Fahringer of Sterling, Va., and Kenneth O. Briseid of Biloxi, Miss.; two grandchildren; and a brother and two sisters in Norway. A memorial service was held Sept. 15 at Community Lutheran Church in Sterling. Burial was at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Iselin.

Jung Sook Majoros

Jung Sook Majoros passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 68 years of age. Born on Seoul, Korea, she resided in Woodbridge before moving to Millstone township seven years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Julius Majoros, who died in 1994. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. Surviving her are her daughter, Lee and her husband, Peter Chamas, of Millstone Township, her son, John Majoros, and his wife, Katherine, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and one granddaughter, Madison Chamas, of Millstone Township. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Burial will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
