Homeowners should be aware when having trees sprayed

I took action to protect my trees from the gypsy moth, but to no avail. Have you had the same experience?

I was advised by a tree expert that my trees should be sprayed against defoliation by the gypsy moth. I accepted the expert's advice and let him spray at a substantial cost.

The spraying operation took about 20 minutes. Since then, over a period of a month, little limbs containing leaves continue to fall. Either the gypsy moths are immune to the contents of the spray or the wrong spray was applied. Calls to the tree expert were never returned.

In the future, when I again have the trees sprayed, I will ask for a description of the spray in writing and a sample of the spray being applied. I suggest this procedure for anyone having his or her trees sprayed.
