Sports Shorts The Central Jersey Umpires Association is looking for men and women who are interested in becoming certified umpires. The association is expanding and needs candidates to umpire baseball and softball games. Serious prospects only please. For those interested, classes will begin Aug. 8. Baseball players and teams are wanted for the fall seasons of the Amateur Baseball Association (ABA) of NJ. The ABA is the premier adult men's (18 and over) recreational baseball league in New Jersey. It is also the fastest-growing league in northern and central New Jersey and will have multiple wood and metal skill level leagues. The ABA had 82 teams in its 2007 spring and summer seasons.
