Boy, 15, charged with stabbing of stepmother
BY KATHY CHANG
Staff Writer

WOODBRIDGE - A 15-year-old Keasbey resident was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 50-year-old stepmother last week, police said.

Police were dispatched to a Judy Drive residence on a report of an assault with a knife at 6:34 p.m. on June 27, police said.

When police arrived, they observed the boy sitting at the bottom of the steps of the residence, the police report said.

Police asked the boy "where the guy with the knife was." The boy stated "no problem, no problem," the police report said.

Police again asked "where the guy with the knife was" and he smiled and pointed to the residence, police said.

Two police officers went into the residence and one police officer stayed with the boy, police said.

Police ran up the stairs and found the apparent victim lying on her back in the doorway with blood all over her midsection and thighs, the police report said.

Police asked who stabbed her and she pointed directly at her stepson, who was standing in the driveway with one of the police officers, police said.

The woman was still conscious and breathing, but was feeling dizzy, police said.

Police immediately arrested the boy, the police report said.

Police found the bloody knife with a black handle and a serrated edge on the floor in front of the kitchen, the police report said.

The victim was treated on the scene by First Aid Squad No. 18 and Perth Amboy Paramedics from Raritan Bay Medical Center. She was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, police said.

The victim suffered from multiple stab wounds, police said.

The investigation was turned over to the Woodbridge Detective Bureau.
