Metuchen Junior team needs a little more pop

      METUCHEN - After jumping out to a 5-2 start to the summer season, the Metuchen Junior Legion team dropped two straight to fall to 5-4. A tough 4-2 loss to Bishop Ahr White was topped by an even tougher 5-2 loss to Father & Son.

      EDISON - While the Father & Son Junior American Legion team is off to a 7-0 start to the summer season, the wins have not always come easy. Last week, the team needed two come-from-behind victories in the seventh inning to stay unbeaten heading into this week's action.

Bay fishing seems a bit more reliable of late

      Well, the first Hi-Mar kids' trip is in the books for this year.Hi-Mar's first group was from Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs, led by CO Wayne Tomelson. It didn't seem to matter what kind of fish they caught, every one reeled in brought a big grin to the face of each kid.
