Planning Board should keep warehouse as is

Truck traffic on Ethel Road has been an increasing concern of residents since several warehouses and businesses were added to the area in the 1980s. At the Edison Planning Board's June 18 meeting, the newest owner of the warehouse at 95 Ethel Road wants to "streamline" the operation at his facility for the current tenant by adding an additional truck entrance off Ethel Road with four additional bays at the corner of the building near Taylor Road and directly across from the homes that have existed since the 1940s and 1950s. This would allow trucks to access the building at two areas and introduce truck traffic farther into the residential area.

Warehouse tenants come and go, but it is the residents who suffer for the long haul. In the interest of preserving some "quality of life" in Edison, we urge the Planning Board to deny this application.
