Board's actions left bad impression on youngsters

An open letter to the Edison Township Board of Education:

I am writing this "thank you" to that esteemed body for teaching my two grandsons a wonderful lesson in civic responsibility. They attended a supposedly open forum on Thursday, June 14, 2007, and were refused entry, with their mother, into the conference room after waiting for over an hour and a half. It seems, at 9:15pm the board members were simply exhausted and refused to hear opinions and concerns of the people who wished to speak. It is pitiful that an elected body, who is supposed to represent students of Edison Township, saw fit to expose young minds to such corrupt and devious behavior. No wonder so many young people today are jaded and disinterested when it comes to participation in the "democratic" process.
