Township man, 20, arrested for lewdness, stalking

EDISON - A 20-year-old Edison resident was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly exposing himself to a township woman on three separate occasions, police said.

Christopher J. Noto was arrested by Edison police after a 25-year-old woman reported he had repeatedly exposed himself to her in her own neighborhood, according to Edison Lt. Joseph Shannon.

The victim first reported the situation to police on May 13 and said that a white male in a black pick-up truck called over to her. When she approached the truck she saw that he was nude from the waist down and was fondling himself, Shannon said.

The victim also reported at that time that the same man had done the same thing to her on April 30, but she did not report it.

On May 16, around 2 p.m., while the woman was jogging through her neighborhood, she noticed the truck parked nearby. Before she could get to a phone to alert police, Noto allegedly pulled the vehicle up to her and exposed himself again, Shannon said.

Detectives arrested Noto at a residence on New Durham Road later that afternoon and charged him with two counts of lewdness and one count of stalking. He was released on $25,000 bail.
