Resident supports Pizzi, Stephens for Democratic endorsement

Of all seven candidates seeking the Democrat Party organization's support on Monday, March 19's screening, one stands out as having done an exceptional job on the council and Planning Board in representing the interests of the people of Edison and not some special interest groups nor the party organization - and that is Sal Pizzi.

Sal Pizzi is worthy of selection for his support in getting a citizens' pay-to-play ordinance enacted by the council, for his leadership as chairman of the budget committee, on which he fought to keep our property taxes down over the objections of the mayor. He also has fought to stop the expansion of political appointees to township government and has continuously supported citizen initiatives and concerns on open space, traffic congestion and overdevelopment.

Sal Pizzi has earned the right of renomination and the gratitude of all our citizens for his dedication to pubic service in Edison. While I am active in township affairs as a concerned citizen, I am not a Democrat but always try to support the best candidates. In this respect, I also feel Bill Stephens deserves the organization's support for his distinguished service to the community as a former councilman and township activist working on behalf of the residents. Bill brings integrity, an in-depth knowledge of township governance and dedication to good government as credentials for nomination.
