Senior wide receiver Justin Varga of Colonia was among the top players on the Western New England College football team that posted a 5-4 record this past fall, which tied the school mark for wins.

Varga, a sport management major, was second on the squad with 33 receptions for 391 yards (11.8 avg.) and two touchdowns. He had eight catches for 62 yards against Endicott and six receptions for 103 yards at Curry. Varga had receiving touchdowns in the first two contests of the season against Westfield State and Maine Maritime.

Varga finished his career sixth on the school list in both receptions (76) and yards (784). He also had five touchdown catches during his four seasons with the Golden Bears.

"Justin was a quiet person who made himself known on the field," said second-year Western New England College coach Keith Emery. "He made a lot of big plays when we needed them. Justin also played his best games against quality opponents."
