State should not sell off toll roads

When the Garden State Parkway was first opened the toll was 25 cents. Today the toll is now 35 cents. The round trip toll on the Hudson River crossings were originally $1. Today that same toll is now $6.

If the state of New Jersey sells a toll road to the Australian buyers, the Australians plan to raise the tolls. Question - Why can't the state of New Jersey keep the toll roads and simply raise the tolls themselves? The Hudson River crossings tolls have increased 600 percent and motorists will wait in line an average of 15 to 40 minutes to pay these tolls. The Garden State Parkway has increased tolls 40 percent, leaving lots of room for an increase. Besides keeping the parkway will prevent the deer from being replaced by kangaroos.
