Man robbed of $130 in his home

WOODBRIDGE - Police are looking for two Hispanic men who stole $130 and some bank information from a 69-year-old Iselin man.

The robbery occurred at the victim's Magnolia Road residence at 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 25, police said.

The victim told police that he heard a loud knock on the side door and answered it. Suspect one told the man that he was doing electrical work on the house next door, the police report said.

The victim described suspect one as a 5-foot-9 Hispanic or gypsy male, with no accent or facial hair, wearing a tan jacket, the police report said.

Suspect one told the victim that he wanted to come in to check on the electricity. When the suspect entered the kitchen, he started to flick the light switch on and off, the police report said.

At this time suspect two entered the home, police said.

The victim described suspect two as a 6-foot Hispanic or gypsy male with no accent or facial hair, wearing a plain dark hat, jacket and pants, the police report said.

Suspect one grabbed the victim by the hand and walked him into the living room. Then the suspect pushed the victim onto a chair and told him to sit, the police report said.

The victim made several attempts to get up off the chair and every time he was pushed back down. During this time, suspect one looked through the victim's pockets, the police report said.

Suspect two ransacked the home and took $130 and some bank information from underneath the mattress. After he went through the house, he told suspect one "let's go" and both suspects left the house using the side door, the police report said.

The victim said both suspects got into a possible Chrysler maroon van with no front license plate and sped off east on Magnolia Road toward Route 27, the police report said.
