Town hall to extend hours on Tuesdays
BY KATHY CHANG
Staff Writer

WOODBRIDGE — Mayor John E. McCormac has extended town hall hours every Tuesday beginning Jan. 2.

The Municipal Clerk’s Office, the Municipal Registrar Office, the Police Department, Department of Planning & Development, and Municipal Court hours will be extended to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

The Health Department, which is located at 2 Frederick Plaza, will also remain open to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

“I recognize that for many residents, it’s just not possible to get to town hall between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.,” said McCormac.

“The extended hours will make government a little more responsible, convenient and helpful,” he said. “Hopefully, the added hours will make it easier for residents to conduct business at town hall — it’s called making government work for the taxpayer.”

McCormac noted that municipal government should operate more like a business — consumer-friendly, convenient hours, effective customer relations, and cordial service.

“Most municipal services, such as applying for and obtaining various permits and licenses, making tax and other payments, voter registration, and various police services will be available during the extended hours of operation,” McCormac said.

Township residents can contact town hall, located at 1 Main St., at (732) 634-4500.
