WOODBRIDGE — Two men were killed and two were badly injured when the 1992 Honda Civic they were riding in spun out of control and struck a tree on Smith Street in Keasbey last week.

The accident occurred at 7:12 a.m. on Dec. 14 as they were heading from their homes in Perth Amboy to their jobs at ANJ Body & Fender Works in Edison, police said.

“Their vehicle spun out of control and hit the tree on the passenger side,” said Lt. Thomas Gennarelli.

The driver of the vehicle, Carlos Arias, 21, and his two rear-seat passengers, Ramon Angel Bencosme, 34, and Jose Diaz, 25, were all taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, police said.

Arias died after his surgery on Dec. 17, police said.

Rubin Gonzalez, 37, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, died en route to Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, police said.

Gennarelli said police are still investigating the fatal car accident.
