Scouts thankful for food drive donations

A heartfelt thanks goes out to all those neighbors in Metuchen and elsewhere who participated in the "Scouting for Food" drive these past few weeks. This program is part of a nationwide "'good turn" in which Boy Scouts distribute empty grocery bags to residential neighborhood doorsteps one weekend and then gather nonperishable foodstuffs to fill them the next weekend. The food is dispersed by local food pantries to those in need. It instills a sense of great pride to see such a generous outpouring of concern and caring for others.
