Mayor and council on right track with open space

It was a delight to read about Mayor Choi and the council's work to preserve 22 acres of open space. From what I read and hear about locally, some developers aren't too pleased with Mayor Choi administration's firm policy to fundamentally reshape how planning and redevelopment takes place in our community. Under the mayor's leadership, open spaces around residential communities are being preserved. Exciting new redevelopment projects are bringing life to old properties that have been sitting dormant for years.

Finally, there is responsible, longer-term planning for change. I am excited about the mayor's upcoming Smart Growth Summit on Nov. 18. It's nice to know we, the citizens, finally have a say.
