Guns filched from Fords home

WOODBRIDGE - Police are investigating a burglary and theft of $5,000 worth of valuables from a South Oak Avenue residence in Fords last week.

The incident occurred between 7 a.m. and 1:57 p.m. on Oct. 20, police said.

Someone smashed the rear window of the home and ransacked the interior, the police report said.

Drawers and cabinets were turned out and the rear main level bathroom window was shattered. A large red brick was found on the floor near the hallway door, the police report said.

The victim told police that he was missing seven guns, which includes target shooting shot guns, handguns and target pistols that were in various areas of his bedroom, the police report said.

The victim told police that he had all copies of gun permits and serial numbers, the police report said.

The victim told police that none of the guns were loaded and most of them had gun locks, police said.
