Obituaries Christopher Leffler Mr. Leffler, 53, of Woodbridge, died suddenly Oct. 3 at Rahway Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge. Mr. Leffler ran a successful lawn-care service and was a member of the Avenel Fire Department. He also taught martial arts and had achieved taekwondo black belt master status. He was a graduate of St. James Catholic School, Woodbridge. Mr. Leffler was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 87. A memorial service will be held 1-4 p.m. Oct. 21 at American Legion Post 87, 314 Berry St., Woodbridge. A buffet will follow. For more information, call (732) 634-9705. Edith A. Hammel Hughes Mrs. Hughes, 73, of East Brunswick, formerly of Edison, died Oct. 5 at home. Her husband, John Hughes, died in 1987. Surviving are a son, John Hughes of Lavallette; two daughters, Kathleen Bini of Brick and Karen Higgins of Old Bridge; a brother, Charles Hammel of Piscataway; a sister, Arlene Otnitsky of Old Bridge; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
