The New Jersey State Bar Foundation will present a public seminar on divorce law Nov. 2. Speakers will be attorneys Amy Zylman Shimalla and Jerry S. D'Aniello. "Everything You Always Wanted to Ask About Special Education: Parents' & Schools' Rights and Responsibilities" will be Nov. 15. Speakers include attorneys Rebecca K. Spar, Michaelene Loughlin, and David Giles. A seminar on buying and selling a home will be Dec. 5. Speakers Stanley Fink and Jeffrey Apell, both well versed in real estate law. Middlesex County Economic

Opportunities Corp., North Brunswick, has received $50,449 as part of the first installment of increased funding under the state's Initiative to Fight Hunger. The announcement was made by Gov. Jon S. Corzine of the issuance of $750,000 to emergency feeding operations statewide, and the funds will be used to purchase nutritious foods to help feed an additional 500,000 individuals this year. Other components of the initiative include nutrition education programs, and materials to assist individuals in preparing nutritious meals using foods from the program.

Eric Kuper, a partner in the firm of Martin, Kane, Kuper, North Brunswick, has been installed as president of the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association. The Association furthers the education and skills of trial attorneys, and promotes the system of trial by jury. Kuper, of Manasquan, was admitted to the bar in 1987, and concentrates his practice on civil trial litigation in Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties. He also serves as a private and court appointed arbitrator throughout the State of New Jersey. His memberships include the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association, Middlesex County Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Kuper is admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. He graduated from Trenton State College, and received his juris doctor degree at Western New England School of Law, Springfield, Mass.
