Moore Avenue hit hardest by tire slashers BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer
WOODBRIDGE - Police are investigating a rash of tire slashings throughout the township last week.
The earliest tire slashing occurred at town hall, on Main Street, between 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25 and 5 p.m. Sept. 26, police said.
Someone slashed the left rear tire of a white 2003 Ford Explorer. The damage was valued at $100, police said.
The next tire slashing to a left rear tire of a gold 2000 four-door Dodge Stratus parked at the parking lot of the Woodbridge train station on Pearl Street occurred between 2:45 p.m. Sept. 25 and 11:30 p.m. Sept. 26. The damage was valued at $60, police said.
Moore Avenue took the brunt of the slashings, with five incidents reported.
Someone slashed the front and rear tires on the left side of a white 1991 four-door Toyota Corolla that was parked at a Moore Avenue residence between 4 p.m. Sept. 25 and 7 a.m. Sept. 26. The damage was estimated at $200, police said.
Someone slashed a front tire of a blue 2000 four-door Dodge Stratus that was parked at a Moore Avenue residence between 5:30 p.m. Sept. 25 and 7 a.m. Sept. 26. The damage was estimated at $100, police said.
Someone slashed a right rear tire of a white 1994 four-door Honda Civic that was parked at a Moore Avenue residence between 8 p.m. Sept. 25 and 7 a.m. Sept. 26. The damage was estimated at $100, police said.
Someone slashed the front right tire of a maroon 2001 four-door Jeep 6C and the front right tire of a 1996 Ford Ranger that were parked at a Moore Avenue residence between 8:15 p.m. Sept. 25 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 26. The damage was estimated at $180, police said.
Someone slashed the rear tires of a silver 2001 four-door Jeep 6L that was parked on Moore Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Sept. 25 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 26. The damage was estimated at $45, police said.
