Pizza delivery man attacked and robbed
BY KATHY CHANG
Staff Writer

WOODBRIDGE - Police are investigating a robbery that left a Perth Amboy Domino's pizza delivery man injured last week.

The incident happened at 12:25 a.m. on Sept. 24, police said.

The delivery man was delivering an order of two large pies, a side order of cinnamon sticks and a 2-liter bottle of Sprite totaling $27.10 that was placed at 12:05 a.m., the police report said.

The delivery address given was Kensington Gardens Building 8 on Tulip Drive, the police report said.

The victim arrived at Kensington Gardens at 12:25 a.m. to deliver the order, police said.

Upon arriving, an unknown black male was waiting in the parking lot and told the victim the pizzas were for him, police said.

The victim described the suspect as a well-dressed black male, about 5 feet 7 inches and 135 pounds. He had a dark complexion and short black hair, the police report said.

The black male led the victim into the lobby of Building 8 and up to the door of an apartment, the police report said.

The victim said the suspect reached out as if to press the doorbell and then grabbed him around his neck, police said.

Then three more unknown black males approached him. One of them then punched the victim in the face, police said.

The victim described the man who punched him as wearing a black baseball cap, a dark-colored bandanna covering his face and a dark-colored tank-top. He had a medium complexion, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and roughly 135 pounds, the police report said.

The victim was unable to describe the other two black males who approached him, but said they all appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s, police said.

After the victim was punched in the face, the four suspects picked up the food and proceeded to run out the main door of the lobby, police said.

The victim was treated by the Woodbridge First Aid Squad for his injuries, the police report said.
