Seniors club lines up trips to A.C., Lake George, LBI

The Holy Rosary Seniors holds meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the auditorium of Holy Rosary Church, 625 Florida Grove Road, Perth Amboy. Trips to Atlantic City are planned the second Monday of every month. The bus departs at 9 a.m. from the church parking lot. For reservations, call Ida at (732) 442-0575. A three-day, two-night trip to a resort in Lake George, N.Y., is also scheduled for Oct. 2-4. Cost is $305 for a double occupancy and includes four meals (two breakfasts, two dinners) and video-equipped bus transportation, as well as entertainment. Call Toni at (732) 738-4046. In addition, the club has lined up a day trip to the Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven (Long Beach Island) for its holiday spectacular. Cost is $60, which covers transportation, lunch at the Bayberry Inn in Cape May and the show. Call Mary or Don at (609) 409-8488.

Church to soon offer indoor Sat. flea market

First Congregational Church, 539 Barron Ave., Woodbridge, will feature an indoor flea market every Saturday beginning Oct. 7. It will remain open until Dec. 2. Vendors are needed. For reservations or more information, call Susan at (732) 634-0582.

Senior citizens club to meet on Sept. 21

The Woodbridge Senior Citizens Club will hold its next business meeting Sept. 21. A social is also planned for Sept. 28, featuring bingo and refreshments.

The club's October schedule is as follows:

+ Oct. 10 - Trip to Showboat Casino in Atlantic City (nonmembers welcome)

+ Oct. 20 - Luncheon at Triangle Hofbrau house (German restaurant) in Pequannock, Morris County

+ Oct. 26 - Halloween party and

luncheon

Meetings are held every Thursday at 1 p.m. in McCorristin Hall at St. James Church, 145 Grove St., Woodbridge. New members are welcome, with membership open to those ages 60 and older who do not belong to any other township club. Canceled meetings are announced on WCTC 1450 AM.

Elks flea market held every Tuesday and Saturday

Woodbridge Elks Lodge 2116 holds a flea market at the Elks Hall, 665 Rahway Ave., from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday (weather permitting), featuring more than 60 vendors. The hall is located across from Trinity Church.

AARP sponsors monthly trips to Atlantic City

The AARP Chapter No. 3459/Colonia, Woodbridge, sponsors trips to Caesars Casino in Atlantic City on the second Monday of the month. The bus leaves the parking lot of St. John Vianney Elementary School, Inman Avenue, at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $20. For reservations, call Fran at (732) 388-0359.

Woodbridge AARP lines up 11-day trip for the fall

Woodbridge AARP Chapter No. 3869 has scheduled an 11-day trip Sept. 22-Oct. 2 to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota (includes visits to Black Hills, Crazy Horse Memorial and other sights). Cost is $835. For more information, call Mary Alice at (732) 855-1514.
