John Alden Buck Sr.

Mr. Buck, 77, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick and Spotswood, died Jan. 3 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He founded Buck Bros., a highway construction company located in Edison, then East Brunswick and Monroe, in 1950. Surviving are seven children, Christine “Tina” Klitsch Shannon, Maureen “Lesley” Buck-Stone, Michael J. Buck, Stephanie P. Buck Parkerson, John A. Buck Jr., Jacqueline A. Buck Donedao and Kevin G. Buck; three brothers, Bernard “Angie,” Raymond and Larry Buck; 14 grandchildren; four grandchildren; and two former wives, Maureen Jacobsen and Dorothy Kendall Buck. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22, Union, NJ 07083.

Joseph Walas

Mr. Walas, of East Brunswick, formerly of South River and Old Bridge, died Jan. 4 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was a manager for Akzo-Nobel, Edison, where he worked for 31 years. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Kucharski Walas; a daughter, Joanne Mikus-Ketauver of Lemoyne, Pa.; a brother, Leo of Sayreville; a sister, Dorothy Odierno of Venice, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Private services were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.

David Adley Clark

Mr. Clark, 42, of Old Bridge, formerly of Spotswood and South River, died Dec. 21 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was employed as an electrician for the past six years at Cioffe Electric, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick. His father, Everett L. Clark, died in 2004. Surviving are his companion, Denise Thomas of Old Bridge; his mother and stepfather, Frances and David Nace of Worcester, Mass.; three sisters, Beth Theriault and Margaret Clark, both of Worcester, and Amy Velazquez of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; his grandfather, Joseph Gresh of Spotswood; and a nephew and two nieces. A graveside memorial service was held at Reformed Church Cemetery, Spotswood. Cremation was private. Arrangements were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood.

Laura Simonetti

Mrs. Simonetti, 97, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 8 in Madison Center, Old Bridge. Her husband, Rico, died in 1993, and a daughter, Marie, died in 1995. Surviving are a son, John of Old Bridge; a daughter, Jeanette Zabrodski of the Iselin section of Woodbridge; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Fund of America.
