Support group for low vision to meet Dec. 20

The Low Vision Support Group of Jewish Family and Vocational Service (JFVS) of Middlesex County will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 20 at the JFVS office, 515 Plainfield Ave., Suite 201, Edison.

The group provides emotional support to those with low vision, aiming to bring people together to exchange helpful information and learn practical solutions.

Transportation can be arranged if needed, and insurance may be accepted in lieu of a fee. To join, call Fran Starr, director of older adult services, at (732) 777-1940, ext. 113. R.S.V.P. is required.

Also, JFVS’ CAMEO, or Challenging Adult Minds and Energizing Ourselves, has openings in its social day-care program tailored to the needs of adults who are physically disabled but cognitively alert. Activities designed for CAMEO include book reviews, exercise, painting, day trips, special-interest groups and discussions of current events.
