Caterina Certo Maimone

Mrs. Maimone, 93, of Old Bridge, died April 21 in Old Bridge Manor. Her husband, Rosario Maimone, died in 1980, and a daughter, Grazia Catanese, died in 1996. Surviving are three sons, Giuseppe Maimone of East Brunswick, Santo Maimone of North Brunswick and Pietro Maimone of Hawaii; three daughters, Maria Ruggeri of Edison, Francesca Drulis of East Brunswick and Anna Cassissi of North Brunswick; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.

Eli Ortiz

Mr. Ortiz, 27, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died April 22 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. He was employed as an oil technician at Grease Monkey, Edison. Surviving are his wife, Janette Marrero Ortiz; four children, Peter, Aleesa, Krystina and Eliyah, all at home; his parents, Robert Lowe and Dr. Kathryn Mahon-Lowe of New York City; a sister, Carmen Alvarez of Queens, N.Y.; and a brother, Fernando O. Brown of Jersey City. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a college fund to benefit the deceased’s children.

Harry J. Devenney

Mr. Devenney, 81, of Hazlet, died April 28 at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. He was born in New York City, where resided before moving to Hazlet 48 years ago. Mr. Devenney was a commercial artist at RCA, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4303, Hazlet. Mr. Devenney was predeceased by his wife, Ann, in 1997; a son, Dennis Devenney, in 2002; and a grandson, Adam Mescal, in 1995. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Susan Devenney of Warren Township; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Philip Possumato of Rockledge, Fla., Geraldine and Larry Mescal of Manchester, and Jacqueline Devenney of Edison; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Louise A. Dixon

Mrs. Dixon, 92, of East Brunswick, formerly of Edison, died April 18 in Sunrise Assisted Living, East Brunswick. Her husband, Robert E. Dixon, died in 1966. Surviving are a son, Ronald Dixon of East Brunswick; a daughter, Denise Spiewak of Coral Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Janet Bills of Piscataway and Emma Falcetano of Barnegat; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
