Walk-a-thon to defray cancer patients’ expenses

Catholic Daughters of the Americas Queenship of Mary Court No. 1743 will sponsor an indoor walk-a-thon from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 16 at St. Bernadette’s Church, Lourdes Center Gym, Princeton and Villanova Roads, Parlin section of Old Bridge.

Proceeds will be donated to Pink Wishes Foundation, an organization that provides necessary local resources to defray the burdening direct and indirect costs that breast cancer and its treatment cause patients and their families. Some of the extra costs include child care support during cancer treatment, taxi fare/transportation to and from treatment centers, and wigs and other items to help ease the burden and impact that cancer bears.
