Woman charged with sale of pirated material
WOODBRIDGE — Police allege that a woman they were trying to arrest became violent toward herself May 7.

Two officers on bicycle patrol were speaking with the owner of Angelo’s Pizza on Amboy Avenue around 5:05 p.m. when Yuehong Xi, 38, Corona, N.Y., entered the store with a piece of rolling luggage and shouted "DVD! CD!," according to the police report on the incident.

After noticing the officers, Xi left and began walking down Route 35 south.

When officers caught up to her and asked her if she had a vendor’s permit, Xi allegedly began striking herself in the head and thigh with a closed fist.

When backup in a patrol car arrived, Xi allegedly dropped to the ground and began rolling, kicking her feet and flailing her arms. After being pulled to her feet, police said Xi resisted being placed under arrest and put in the back seat of the patrol car.

Fifty pirated DVDs and 33 pirated CDs were allegedly found inside Xi’s luggage. Xi was charged with possession of pirated recordings and obstructing and resisting arrest. She was held on $20,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
