Jewish Vocational Service provides elder day care

Jewish Family & Vocational Service operates elder day care at Adath Israel, 424 Amboy Ave., Woodbridge, Monday, Wednesday and Thurs­day, and at Temple Emanu-El, 100 James St., Edi­son, on Tuesday and Friday.

Social programs are designed to be physically and mentally stimulating, and plans of activity can be developed for in­dividual needs, according to the voca­tional service.

Meals, snacks, and medication moni­toring are part of the services. Programs for care­givers and their families are also available. Contact Charlene Cotton, coordinator, at (732) 777-1940.

Film internships available for spring semester

Applications are now being accepted for internships for students enrolled in film, television and communications de­gree programs. The internships are available from the Educational Advisory Board of the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission.

Internships are available for the spring semester and open to students presently enrolled in New Jersey colleges and universities. Interns are unpaid, and college credits must be arranged through a faculty adviser.

Panel schedules free

divorce law seminar

The New Jersey State Bar Foundation will present a free public seminar on di­vorce law from 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 12 at the New Jersey Law Center, One Constitution Square (off Ryders Lane), New Brunswick.

Two family law attorneys will discuss such topics as mediation and arbitration, the Early Settlement Panel, custody and visitation, domestic violence orders, al­imony, equitable distribution and child support guidelines. A question-and-an­swer period will follow the presentations.

Admission is free. The public is wel­come. Advance registration is required.

Local West Point cadet named to dean’s list

Cadet Ryan C. Daly, son of Bruce and Judith Daly of Woodbridge, was named to the dean’s list and awarded the Silver Star for excellence in academics at the United States Military Academy.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a cadet must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.

Daly graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2002. He is studying Interna­tional History, and plans to graduate in 2006 from West Point and be commis­sioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

The mission of the United States Mili­tary Academy is to educate, train and in­spire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of duty, honor and country, according to the academy.

Veterans Day parade

set in New Brunswick

The Veterans Alliance of Raritan Valley Inc., East Brunswick, will sponsor its annual Veterans Day pa­rade beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 at Livingston Avenue and New Street, New Brunswick.

The march will then proceed from New Brunswick into Highland Park, where it will end at the Doughboy Monument, corner of Raritan and Woodbridge avenues.
