Assailants tie up owner, rob house BY JAY BODAS Staff Writer
EDISON — Police are looking for two suspects after a Valetta Place residence was burglarized on the afternoon of Dec. 5 while the residents were at home.
“After gaining entry sometime between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m., the two suspects bound the 62-year-old female homeowner with duct tape, covering her eyes and mouth,” said police Lt. Joseph Shannon. “Once they secured her, the 9-year-old granddaughter was bound.”
The suspects then ransacked the house and took an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry from the house, police said.
“Once they fled, the grandmother freed herself and called police,” Shannon said. “Neither she nor her granddaughter were injured.”
The first suspect is described as an Asian-Indian male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 20 to 24 years old, with a thin build and wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is a male with a thin build, dark complexion, dark straight hair and a mustache, police said.
Anyone with information should call Detectives Cathy Vojir or Thomas Duffy at (732) 248-7539.
